Splurge & Purge cycles - Hiring people indiscriminately before a project, followed by "letting them go" if they stay on the bench for short periods of time

You are just a number, and in many times 2 or more. Required to work multiple clients at the same time all in the name of adding to the SBU bottom line. To expect a traveling consultant to work weekends, without any positive effect on bonus is unethical. So is billing more than one client for the same hour. Great method to pad upper management bonus, not so great for customers who pay for efforts they do not receive.
