      Smart colleagues Decent(ish) pay Chance to work with an array of clients Ability to work remotely

      Cons

      Greed - The client could be completely unreasonable, but you are still expected to stay the course. All they care about is billable hours Lack of vision - Nobody cares about maintaining a relationship with customers. It's all about meeting quotas & gaining bonuses. Splurge & Purge cycles - Hiring people indiscriminately before a project, followed by "letting them go" if they stay on the bench for short periods of time

      Pros

      Ability to work with latest technology products from multiple vendors. Some of the best and brightest minds in multiple industries across the organization.

      Cons

      You are just a number, and in many times 2 or more. Required to work multiple clients at the same time all in the name of adding to the SBU bottom line. To expect a traveling consultant to work weekends, without any positive effect on bonus is unethical. So is billing more than one client for the same hour. Great method to pad upper management bonus, not so great for customers who pay for efforts they do not receive.
