Old technologies, messy dev env, no clear communication from headquarters.

hiring focus is india and upper management do not care if the whole team in US or UK . Forget about merit increses , comany focus is aquiring other companies , not caring about people

Pros

Puppet has a lot of great engineers and an active community and interesting projects. It has good things such as summer working hours (half day on a Friday) and a week off around Christmas or New Year (in addition to normal annual leave)

Cons

The management struggles to understand open source and how to manage and involve the community fully and both miss out as a result. They tend run things very tight in engineering numbers so it can be hard to innovate and stressful in product pushes Company planning can feel very secretive and stops people truly contributing or understanding the direction
