Pros

During my time with Permaseal the training I received was helpful in aiding me to diagnose varying basement issues. The company is willing to invest in their employees and the owners can be very generous. You're provided with many great tools to help get you started. They provide a laptop, tablet, phone and a bag full of tools. All very useful to provide a solution to the homeowner. This company really cares about the homeowner and stands behind their products and services.

Cons

Unfortunately the demand here is very high. Six day work weeks are not uncommon during "rain mode". They may even ask for a 7th day if you can. They promise that you will work close to home but don't count on it you may find yourself 45 miles away from home more often than you like. You may even have to cross state lines from time to time. Expect 3 hour meetings every Friday. These are meant for training but really just geard towards pumping up sales goals. Also expect virtual trianing once a week where it takes more time to set up than its worth. Expect them to force feed you sales guru media over and over again. If you resign make sure your sales are installed or you may not see your full commissions. Follow your sales closely, there are lots of moving parts here allowing for things to slip between the cracks.

Thank you for your positive comments on the quality of our training and the investment in our Tribal Members. We continue to work hard at being Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana’s preferred provider for dry basements and crawl spaces, stable foundations and healthy homes, but also the employer of choice for those that are a good cultural fit. We have learned that materials, systems and processes can be copied, but what makes our company successful is our people and the training that we provide. We believe in investing in our people, so every department conducts mandatory training meetings at a minimum of once per week. These training opportunities focus on things like customer service, safety, product and service training, sales, phone etiquette, personal growth and development, motivation, tool usage, etc. and are conducted in a myriad of ways – through role-playing, videos, webinars, peer-to-peer, and from industry partners. We are in the customer service business. When it rains our customers count on us to assist them, and that means everyone in our Tribe works long hours during rainy season, providing not only their time, but talents as well. To be a successful member of our Tribe one must be fully committed as we will be fully committed to you. That is how we deliver the superior customer service experience that our customers have come to expect. While “We work hard…Seriously”, we also do our very best to make sure that we enjoy that work and the people we get to work with. It’s not uncommon to find teams sharing time together by grilling out, enjoying catered breakfasts, popping popcorn, gathering after work or stopping by job sites with coffee & donuts. At the end of our season, we host a family picnic celebration for not only our Tribe, but for their awesome families to thank them for their dedication and commitment. Finally, we are whole-heartedly committed to building an organization wherein nearly everyone wakes up each day inspired to go to work and returns home at the end of the day fulfilled by the work they do – feeling that they have contributed to something greater than themselves. This is what we envision for our Perma-Seal Tribe and we know that it is a journey. One to which we are whole-heartedly committed, but we are not perfect. We are a Tribe filled with human beings striving to be better every day. We truly appreciate your feedback!

Pros

There is potential to make money when the weather is bad and the storms are rolling in.

Cons

Employees are not cared about or respected. It is all about the bottom-line. The COO is the CEOs wife. She used to work in the call center and married him and got a nice promotion. No management or business sense. Sales meetings are a joke. They highlight the top 2 or 3 guys and the rest of the time is spent tellig everyone else how poorly they are doing and how they dont use the "proven" system. When it's busy, don't plan on seeing your family or dare requesting a day off. Bad news!

There are several schools of thought when it comes to responding to social posts, you certainly don’t want to appear to be defensive or argumentative. So what is one supposed to do when presented with a post that is riddled with false information? That’s easy…take the opportunity to paint a clear picture of what it’s like to be part of our Tribe! Are we perfect? Nope! We are a Tribe filled with human beings striving to be better every day. Compensation opportunities in our sales department have never been more plentiful – between commission, additional bonus levels and monthly contests our consultants can not only meet but exceed their personal income goals. We provide the opportunity, the strong brand, the leads, the training and the tools, but then it’s up to the individual to take responsibility for their success. Personal accountability is a tenet throughout our tribe. Sales meetings and webinars are filled with accolades, product training, peer-to-peer recognition, skill improvement and yes, even donuts. Leadership is involved in department meetings because they are compassionate and appreciate our Tribal Members, and want them to feel supported and heard. We were awarded the Top Places to Work from the Chicago Tribune a few years ago, yet we continue daily to seek ways that will make Perma-Seal the employer of choice! We are a transparent organization and do what we say we will do. Our doors are not only open but you will find leaders actively seeking feedback and ideas for improvement on a daily basis. Our Tribal Members are encouraged to come with solutions, not problems. We want their thoughts and experience, not just their hands. We practice servant leadership and act with urgency to serve our internal and external customer needs and wants. All that being said, Perma-Seal is not for everyone! Don’t mistake the love we have for our Tribal Members with weakness. We will not apologize for setting high standards. Everyone in our Tribe puts in long hours when our customers are counting on us to help them. We work hard…seriously, because our purpose is to make the world a better place. That is why we continue to be Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana’s leader in providing dry basements and healthy homes.
