Pros

Pleasant office. Annual bonus and pension. Social club. Big part of employees are really nice.

Cons

Procurement team Culture and Work Environment: Corporate politics are extremely high, with growth and promotion criteria seeming to be solely based on one's ability to navigate corporate politics rather than actual skills and knowledge. If you can do that, even if you lack a lot of skills, you will thrive here. Actual skills and knowledge are not rewarded with growth or promotion, but rather with additional work at the same level. Quite few highly skilled people who tried for a promotion a few times, in employment for more than 5 to 6 years. If you don't get it, you don't get feedback either, to at least know what you need to improve on. Work and training: Significant deficit when it comes to providing adequate training programs, especially for the ones considered to be a low level. Often left to figure things on my own, struggling to perform the role effectively. This lack of support hinders career advancement prospects and creates a sense of frustration among those who are eager to learn and grow. It also impacts team dynamics and productivity, facing challenges in staying up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry best practices and evolving job requirements. Communication and Employee Voice: The department culture is fostered by favoritism, creating an unequal playing field for employees. The lack of transparency and accountability in decision-making processes further exacerbated this undesired environment. Open and honest communication channels are scarce, with employee opinions and feedback often dismissed or ignored. Despite the highly publicized commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), the DE&I team provided little to no personal guidance or support when requested. Although I cannot speak for other departments within Perrigo, based on my experience, I cannot recommend them as an employer. The toxic work environment, lack of growth based on merit, ineffective communication channels and the influence of higher management's personal preferences and biases have created an undesirable workplace. If these issues are specific to this department, it is disheartening that there hasn't been a proactive effort from the company to address and rectify them. Prospective job seekers should approach employment here with caution and carefully consider the potential negative impact on their well-being and career growth. It is advisable to conduct thorough due diligence and research prior joining. Being aware of the issues I have highlighted can help individuals make informed decisions about their professional journey and avoid potential challenges in the future.
