Clueless executive leadership

Pros

-At heart the company truly cares about pets -Everyone outside of the C-suite and new senior management is incredibly knowledgeable about the industry and very easy to work with

Cons

There were definitely some issues with the previous management at PetMeds but on the whole they were receptive to positive and negative feedback and treated everyone as equal. All of that changed when the new CEO took over. After she joined, she began running the company behind a curtain, speaking with (but not listening to) very few long term employees and refusing to use the company’s established means of communications. The team of executives she brought on also have limited respect for employees. If you expect them to attend a meeting they scheduled you would be sorely mistaken, and even if they do show up they will be grossly underprepared and have nothing meaningful to add. If the SLT is aligned (which seems questionable at best) it is clear they are trying to gut the company and either sell it or run it in their own fashion, which seems like a poor decision given they have a combined 0 years of experience in the industry. Until the SLT gets a better understanding of the space and develops an ounce of respect for their direct reports, please do not consider working here.

Pros

It was a better company before this new CEO in May.

Cons

The new CEO and her new team are as useless as her performance with all the other companies she's been with, which were in the couture clothing line. NOTHING to do with pets or pets medications. Just because she owns pets doesn't give her the insight to steer Petmeds out of the red. She's obviously trying to dissolve the company and in the meantime laying off most of top performers including top managers who have been with the company over 20 years. To what goal? To destroy people's lives? I have nothing good to say.
