Pros

- The Company has been a leader in the space for a long time with high quality products - As the Company, industry and category has evolved, Pharmavite has continued to grow - bonuses paid again this year - I think 10 years in a row! Opening a new plant in AL and expanding internationally means continued growth ahead. - Strong values - particularly passion, employees are proud of what we do here. We inspire health through better nutrition!

Cons

- This is a Company undergoing transformation and change can be difficult, especially for those who don't want to. - The historical growth was challenging for the business to keep pace with but a lot has been done and is underway. It is tough in the face of intense competitive pressures, but it's great to be on the winning team! - I concur with my colleage that it takes a lot of energy, as does any high growth environment. Continuous change/improvement, balanced with not fixing what isn't broke, has got to be in your DNA to be a part of this "Something Big". I don't think the people who LOVE this Company know about this site. There are so many loyal, dedicted and talented people who are committed to Pharmavite's transformation. The negative opinions here certainly do not define the culture and work environment I experience.

Pros

They have good benefits. Providing a safe working environment is a priority. There is an emphasis on making quality products.

Cons

This company is not good at promoting from within, especially with regards to professional positions. If you are a new hire in a professional position, expect to be thrown into the job with virtually no training or guidance. The company is very disorganized and the right hand often does not know what the left hand is doing. Therefore there is redundancy and wasted efforts. They focus on process improvement, on the manufacturing side of things, but not on the processes and tools professionals have to use. Management is very disconnected with the employees, and the value that they can add to the company. Whatever they hear or perceive about you, is what you are, and will always be. They don't seem evolved enough, to study to show themselves approval, nor care enough, to seek the truth. The trust and morale is very low, and stress is very high. Even in these hard times, there is much talk by many employees, of leaving. Even an HR employee recently gave no notice and just packed up and quit the same day. What does that tell you? Employees cannot focus on getting their work done, because of the micro-managing, and pettiness. You have to spend more time covering yourself and looking over your shoulder, than working. It is wasteful, counter productive, and shows that the company doesn't trust or care about it's employees. They need to work smarter, instead of harder. This company does not use it's resources well. There is so much un-tapped talent within the company. i once saw a new person, that was upset because they were left on their own with no work to do, and no training. At that moment I could think of at least ten things for that person to do, but they did not work in my department. People have all kinds of ideas of how to improve things. Unfortunately, it seems management feels they are the authority, knows everything, and wants all the credit if something goes good. Yet getting them to make a decision on anything, is like pulling teeth. They are afraid of making the wrong decision, and getting blamed. To be honest, it seems like most of them don't really know what they are doing. You just don't see that confidence in them.

Pros

Competitive salary for managers and above. Produce high quality product.

Cons

No opportunities for advancement. Senior management team is completely incompetent and nepotism runs rampant. They preach diversity and inclusion - 80% of the employees are Hispanic yet very few make it above the supervisor level. Management turnover rate is astonishingly high due to very low morale and poor work/life balance. If a recruiter calls for an opportunity at Pharmavite, walk away (or run) and feel good about that decision.
