Pros

Good health benefits and bonus payout potential, average salary, and a brand that has strong brand equity that allows it to grow year-after-year

Cons

Dysfunctional, disgruntled culture that has its dis-satisfaction pacified by the consistent bonus payout each year. Not a place for progressive thought leaders who want to challenge the status quo, its a do what your told and don't question the direction you have been given management style. Marketing and Innovation team is weak which has led to stagnate, non-existent new product innovation. New open office format at HQ building is difficult to work productively in.

Pros

Competitive salaries & good bonuses. Pharmavite has been a leader in the vitamin supplement industry and constantly generates successful products. Recognized throughout the industry.

Cons

Pharmavite used to have family culture where everyone worked as a team. But that environment has changed quickly over the past 2 years. The culture is now one of fear disguised as "ambiguity". Management is unqualified, arrogant and unproductive. Performance reviews are supposed to be peer-generated, but that's not the truth. Many are often pre-determined based upon perception. Pharmavite talks about "work-life balance" but does nothing but encourage working 24/7. As a matter of fact, they changed the classifation of salaried employees from "Exempt" to "24/7 Employees". If you're considering a job with Pharmavite, I would not encourage it unless you enjoy working in the environment I've just described.

Top down management & toxic culture

Pros

Great coworkers, benefits reasonable, experience to move on, free vitamins every month

Cons

-Top down management without consultation from other groups and lower level employees. A good example of this is the move to an email archive for emails older than 3 months. No advanced warning from IT so that users could plan for this. Decisions made without understanding the nature of users' work and needs, especially remotely. The impact of this decision caused major inefficiencies, but nobody in upper management cares. -Limited advancement internally. Prefers external candidates. External candidates hired & moving from out of state use Pharmavite as a stepping stone to get another job in Los Angeles. -High turnover, especially in Marketing. Echoing other reviewers about Marketing turnover every 1-2 years. -If you are not subservient to management, expect a PIP. The company says to challenge ideas, but it doesn't practice what it preaches. -There are managers who have have been at the company for years and had multiple complaints from employees under them. The managers stay, the employees either leave or get fired. Talking to HR will just lead to a PIP and a reason for them to fire you. -CEO preaches "diversity" but is politically far-left, with moderates and conservatives not feeling welcomed. CEO follows the wokeness of other companies which is questionable. Lacks authenticity and comes across as virtue signaling. -Helpdesk is external non-employee and of no help. No incentive to help users and are looking to close a ticket.

Pharmavite LLC Response

This an exciting time at Pharmavite. As consumers prioritize their wellness more than ever before, they are turning to our products to help maintain their health – and the health of their families. Our mission is to bring the gift of health to life, and we are proud to have stepped up to deliver for our consumers in a time of great need. Our employees believe in that mission, with over 87% reporting they are proud to be associated with Pharmavite and 85% sharing that they feel positive about their work. With that said, we are a company going through a rapid transformation to ensure our continued success and it’s a high-paced, dynamic working environment that’s full of opportunities for growth and development. One area we’re particularly proud of is our commitment to making Pharmavite an even more diverse and inclusive environment. We’ve built our program from the ground up. In fact, we’ve engaged over 200 employees in roundtable discussions exploring many aspects of diversity and used their input to establish our strategy moving forward. As we build the next evolution of Pharmavite, we are bringing in qualified talent from diverse backgrounds at every level of the company and providing more opportunities for current team members to develop and advance in the organization. What we’re striving for here is equity for people and diversity for Pharmavite, so everyone feels like they belong and can contribute their best – and we’re also delivering against that by working to make a difference in the communities we serve. While hearing about these advancements may not resonate with you directly, our actions speak much louder than our words – as does our core belief that the best teams are diverse teams. We are disappointed to hear about your experience. We also acknowledge that transformation is not for everyone and would encourage you to consider if it is in fact right for you.
