Pros

Show up to work anytime within 7am-10am.

Cons

-High turnover in both leadership and staff creates bottlenecks and disorganization, likely due to micromanagement and unrealistic expectations. The company culture is outdated and not evolving with the times. A "fraternity culture" persists, where employees who endure toxic treatment from previous management eventually become managers themselves and continue the cycle. PTO comes with strict limitations. In certain roles, you cannot use your PTO freely, as there are rules preventing time off when others on your team are already off. Expect inconsistent treatment and varying answers to your questions depending on your team or supervisor. The role is advertised as requiring no prior experience, yet formal training lasts only 4-5 days, primarily consisting of shadowing a supervisor. Employees are hired individually, with no cohort or peer group for shared learning and support. There are minimal opportunities for growth as this business sector for Philips has only a few parts to it and operations are completely separate from what other teams might handle. Some people stay in the same role for 10 years yet they either cannot get to management title or deliberately do not want to.

Getting worse and worse

Pros

Genuine, real colleagues I enjoy working with

Cons

Sr leadership out of touch with reality. They don't understand or want to understand the common view. For example, with recent RTO, "I am energized by working with colleagues in office" comments with no allowance to their privileged positions (living close to the office, extremely well paid, spouse taking care of family, etc) as compared to the majority (living far from office due to housing cost, paid less due to junior roles, both parents working, etc). Feeling like I have to be *fake* everyday and act like it's all good when the ship is sinking.

Left Due to Disability Discrimination

Pros

I gave two stars instead of one because the inclusion and diversity team was extremely supportive and the HR representatives I worked with were kind to me and at least heard me out. Ultimately, though, nothing substantial was done to prevent the discrimination, forcing me to have to leave.

Cons

Recently, they have started becoming stricter about employees having to be in the office, to the detriment of their disabled employees. It became more and more difficult for disabled employees to be given permission to be in the office less than 3 days a week, even if their job had been successfully performed remotely. I had managers who stood up for my needs for a few years, which allowed me to do my job. Unfortunately, a new manager joined the team who was outwardly discriminatory and fought tooth and nail to deny my accommodations despite my having successfully done my job almost entirely remotely for 3 years. I made myself sick just to sit in an almost empty office building multiple times a week doing work that could have been done remotely. Her disdain for my disability then bled into her overall treatment of me and I made the choice to leave. She is still at the company. After my departure, my role was posted on LinkedIn with a special message about the role requiring certain levels of physical endurance - effectively stating that the manager did not want to hire another disabled employee. That was ultimately what solidified my decision to write this review.
