Pros

I cant go on about how much I love this place. The staff was great and management worked hard to make the place great for workers and patients.

Cons

Parking was ridiculous but we were expanding so that may have changed. Communication between departments was lacking but I believe that is due to growing pains.

Pros

The people at the hospital all truly care about the mission and the work being performed is nothing short of miraculous. Knowing that, as an employee, your efforts are contributing to the hope and healing of sick children is very rewarding. The benefits are very good, the cafeteria food tastes great and the pay is OK.

Cons

There is very little transparency despite the talking heads of senior/executive leadership claiming it's important. It seems the hospital objectives, goals, priorities, etc are a huge secret that shouldn't be shared. For example, when asking about the overall organizational structure and employee hierarchy - a senior leader stated "oh we wouldn't want that". Each year, the employee opinion survey highlights a severe lack of trust in senior leadership at which time all managers are called in to review the results and chastised for not promoting trust in the executives. It would be interesting to know how many managers and directors marked the survey that they have no trust in senior leadership. There has been very high turnover at the executive and director level over the last couple of years. I'm not certain what this says about executive leadership but is definitely suspect. There seems to be a habit of hiring in new leaders with little or no prior leadership/managerial experience.
