Company is doing great things, but it is a challenging environment

Pros

Pie is going places. This company is going to be successful and it is really fun to be a part of that.

Cons

There is a very top down management style at Pie. Middle managers and IC's don't really get a voice. The pace of work is insane, and sometimes it doesn't need to be. Lot's of self-imposed deadlines that don't make sense. Not a super inclusive culture, would like to see more diversity in leadership roles. Tension between leaders , execs and teams.

Shady tactics by new management

Pros

It paid well in the very beginning near 2021, and 2022.

Cons

Management at the company faced challenges, particularly regarding bonuses and consistent year-over-year raises/compensation. Leadership occasionally employed questionable tactics, and there were instances of inappropriate remarks (such as anti-lgbtqia+, and blatant misogyny) made by former C-level executives, who subsequently stepped down without ever offering a genuine apology. The company also experienced frequent layoffs, which appeared to be a strategy to maintain profitability by replacing full-time employees with lower-paid contracted staff. Additionally, there was a notable lack of transparency from the leadership, despite their claims of being forthcoming about their actions and decisions. Moreover, management frequently placed staff in "crunch" mode, over-promising to clients, and staff while setting unrealistic deadlines. This often resulted in employees being unable to fulfill projects in a timely manner, creating a challenging and stressful work environment. These are just to name a few.

Pros

The organization sticks to its values for the most part. Pie is more transparent then most corporate cultures. The pay and benefits are above average and on the level of silicon valley startups.

Cons

The company priorities are over the places. There seem to be an reorganization every 6 to 12 months. The co-founders not being tech savvy leads to technology being outsourced to rotating group of leaders. The current technology are more MBA types and not engineers so lots of buzz words which you know they never personally implemented.
