Pros

Excellent employee centric website and app for clocking in and out, hr stuff, bank/dd stuff, scheduling, insurance/benefits options, etc. Honestly, an impressive bit of software. Ridiculously cheap vision and dental insurance $10/day meal allowance plus all the coffee and soda you want. Near instant assistance from PFJ's own helpdesk when you inevitably run into a problem with the POS, pumps, etc.

Cons

Scheduling is utterly goofy. Consistency is spotty at best. Glaring obvious favoritism from management, which would be fine if it wasn't favoring underperformers and achievers alike. The store itself is falling apart, which puts more load on the guest services team to constantly band-aid issues instead of focusing on actual guest services. I suspect a budget to bonus issue with mgmt not wanting to dip into their year-end bonus money. A lot of minor things that add up to make larger issues. Examples: the cheapest mop heads I've ever seen in my life, which deposit more lint than dirt they remove, and the solution for wet floors after mopping is to run another dry but lint filled mop head over the wet floor, which basically does nothing. Dual action floor scrubbers with vacuums are cheap. Microfiber mop heads may be another solution, but PFJ is even cheaper it seems. No drains in the bathrooms, and sometimes you really just need to hose down the entire bathroom and sanitize everything. I'm sure every other truck stop employee can relate. The air quality inside is abhorrent, I just stayed mildly sick the entire time I worked there. I've seen less particulates inside a running millworks. Free lunch but the options get repetitive real quick. Lots of pedantic issues, time and effort wasting things that don't matter but "must" be done. The pay is downright bad, and there's no room for advancement. The people working there for years make less than starting cashiers with zero work experience at the competition.

Pros

Optional 4 day work week. Flexible hours. Good balance of Overtime. Great work life balance. Fair pay.

Cons

Management could be better coordinated. Preferential treatment of certain workers over others. Some workplace drama is present (gossiping). Not many advancement opportunities. Assigning extra responsibilities (i.e. machine operation) without any incentives in pay.
