Zero work life balance

Pros

You can hit metrics by cheating the system and it's blatantly allowed.

Cons

Boy's club upper management, if you don't 'fit in' you're eliminated. Pay seems good until it's 80-100 hour work weeks. Staff quality dictated entirely by area.

Pros

There is nothing positive to say

Cons

My experience as a local fuel hauler at Pilot Flying J was disappointing and unsustainable. While the job is critical, the company's approach to its drivers makes it a thankless and difficult role. The work demands incredibly long hours, yet the compensation does not reflect the significant time and effort required. I often felt that the pay was simply not worth the stress and physical toll of the job. You can work as hard as you can, but there's no praise or recognition for that effort. A major issue is the lack of accountability from dispatch. If a mistake is made on their end, the blame is almost always shifted to the driver, creating an incredibly frustrating and unfair work environment. Furthermore, the work-life balance is nonexistent. You are expected to work every single holiday, and the chances of getting any personal time off are slim to none. This makes it impossible to plan for family events or personal obligations. Overall, I would not recommend this position to anyone looking for a career with a healthy work-life balance or fair treatment. The long hours, low pay for the amount of work, and constant blame make it a very difficult job to sustain.

Pros

Great company with great company values, weekly pay, good benefits

Cons

Management is more concerned about profit over people, no overtime under any circumstances (and in the event that you would get overtime they split up your days so you don’t get it ) Company boasts about treating employees like family but at our location that’s nonexistent. The culture becomes “what have you done for us lately” Promotions are nonexistent due to personal biases. Asking why and what I can do to improve for future chances, I get told to pound sand. Benefits don’t auto renew at the end of the year so you have to manually set them up again for the following year
