Pros

- pay: good base - work: plenty of interesting work that covers the whole stack - outlook: sunny; the engineers keep building and the sales engine is humming - location: biltmore hotel in midtown - few facades: people act themselves - calories: snacks, bagels on mondays, with cream cheese

Cons

- requirements: unstable (which is a pro if you know how to maneuver) - inexperience: plenty of talent; plenty of experience, in fact, but it's spread thinly; the teams seem to plod through solutions that a more experienced set of engineers might not have to think twice about (which, again, can be a pro if you want the autonomy and have the work ethic to make stuff work)

Pros

- The people in the company are great. Everyone is friendly and open. There's plenty of knowledge sharing. - The problem of developing a security product that uses voice data is really interesting. - We solve real problems faced by real customers.

Cons

- Keeping a fast pace for too long has lead to folks getting burned out and leaving the company. Thankfully, the leadership recognizes this and has made changes. However, its still a work-in-progress with certain teams. - The benefits could be better. Even the highest premium health and dental plans cover less than what I've had other at VC-backed companies. This can be problematic when covering a family.

Pros

Doesn't feel like a big company yet - I can walk up to the CEO after an all-hands meeting, ask questions and get honest, spin-less answers Minimal bureaucracy - at most I need to ask one other person before starting a project No feeling like I need to be "on-call" all the time - I leave my laptop at work weeknights and weekends without issue

Cons

I was told some things were coming down the pipe when I was interviewing, and when those things appeared they differed significantly from how I was told they would be The perks that helped sell me on the company have been cut somewhat significantly Opportunities for "title advancement" seem limited - the next stop after Software Engineer is VP of Engineering for my subdivision Tech debt is crazy - to the point where we're struggling to start working on the features we've already sold to clients (I won't mention specific things here, but the thing with an underscore in its name sticks out)
