Don’t Ignore The Negative Reviews

Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Ridiculous amounts of time off, especially if you are, or you work for someone who “matters”. Retirement, which some current employees really ought to consider doing. You can also get away with some shady stuff here, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Cons

Leadership at Placer County is weak, at best. Most department heads and managers exist to cater to, and protect specific elected individuals. Although some may just be trying to keep their jobs, integrity is definitely in short supply. The previous negative reviews absolutely speak un-exaggerated truth as to what is happening at this organization. The former CEO, Todd Leopold might be gone, but he was only one of the issues. The root(s) of the many problems still exist. Toxicity and manipulation is pervasive, encouraged, and modeled by many in leadership/managerial roles. If you choose to work here, be very careful who you trust and don’t dare speak your mind. Have a plan B. There are some disturbing and very legitimate reasons why many people are choosing to leave this organization.
