Several excellent and highly skilled people were laid off, myself included, due to financial issues. The company was not set up well to make money, and is likely still unstable as a place to work. Additionally, some roles were cut and re-posted at much lower levels, which signals an intention to get the same work for less pay. My advice would be to not put all your eggs in one basket if you work here; consult on the side, or continue interviewing and don't expect the job to remain for more than a few months. Additionally, while gender diversity was pretty strong here, they could have done a much better job with their DEI efforts on the whole. There may be a general lack of willingness to be confrontational among senior management, which is actually a detriment to the company; it means uncomfortable conversations don't happen until the damage is done, whether it's an HR issue, a funding issue, or a mission problem. Overall, I'm glad I took the job because I learned a lot, but I wouldn't work here again even at a higher pay scale because it's too unstable.
