Pros

I am coming up on my 8 year work anniversary at PlanetArt and have seen the company grow and evolve to become a standard in the personalized gift industry. Many of my team members and colleagues from our surrounding departments have worked at the company for 3-5 plus years with more than a few who have been on board since the company was founded. Longevity is common at PlanetArt and I think that is due to the environment that encourages creativity & teamwork. Each project or new product comes with it’s unique challenges, and the PlanetArt team is more than well prepared to make sure it’s executed perfectly and have a pretty good time while doing it. Fair compensation, great benefits & a good PTO program are a plus. Management encourages a healthy work/ life balance and are very flexible when it comes to their employees personal time.

Cons

The company continues to grow and more and more people are brought on each year. This sometimes means teams and employees might need to be relocated to different suites and offices in the building. It’s not very common and sometimes a change of scenery is actually a good thing!

Pros

I have been with PlanetArt for just under a year. I've worked with several larger companies in my career (including a global Fortune 200 company) and have never felt as welcomed as I did when I joined PlanetArt! Leadership is highly entrepreneurial and always open to constructive suggestions that can generally be quickly and easily tested on the company's various digital commerce platforms. There are lots of opportunities to learn various disciplines within the business, plus nice (and regular) acknowledgements of how much the company appreciates its people. All in all, a fantastic experience so far.

Cons

The company clearly values in-person meetings and communication, which has obviously been difficult since the beginning of the pandemic and may have something to do with employee turnover. Some staff members (not me, fortunately) make fairly long commutes, which is challenging given the in-office requirement - currently three days a week. The business is seasonal and experiences rapid increases in demand during the Holiday shopping season in Q4 - something that can make the November/December holiday season seem a little more stressful than enjoyable.
