Pros

There is an overall positive energy to the place, and you get to work with some very kind, talented and intelligent people. You have incredible people in sales support and other departments that are absolutely incredible and some of the greatest assets to the business, and you will become better for having seen them work.

Cons

I've been a President's Club Sales person for the last six years straight for three different companies. I took the job but let them know I had no experience in selling this type of software and would need a lot of training. I was fired two months after being hired because my manager didn't have time to train me, though the official reason was that I was a "bad fit". It is the only time I've been fired in my career. Secondly, at a below average salary, you are still expected to front them every expense of travel- including hotels, rental cars, food, flights, etc. Although the team is hard working honest people, this small company has so many processes and bureaucracy in place that getting paid back is often like pulling teeth. Lastly, they have their process- one power point presentation, one talk track, one way to sell it. If you do not follow this process you will be micro-managed to tears. You won't be trained on HOW they want it done however, so you will be forced to learn their way by passive-aggressive sighs, incredibly critical 1:1s with your manager after the fact and second-hand accounts of your manager complaining about you to your colleagues.

I appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on your time at Planful. It is extremely important to us that all employees, both remote and non-remote, get the support they need in order to be successful from Day 1, so it is certainly disappointing to read you did not get the support you needed. Over the last nine months, with new leadership in place, we have made a number of improvements in our sales training programs and the feedback we have received has been incredibly positive. Onboarding and continuous training is a focus for us in 2020, so that all employees are set up for success from the moment they join the company. Thank you for your kind words about the “talented and intelligent” people you worked with. I know we are all very proud of the team we have built and believe that together we will do great things as a company.
