A Company That Responsibly Puts People First

Pros

Planning Center responsibly puts its people first. As we've seen in the tech industry these last few quarters, many companies have had massive layoffs, disruption of service to customers, etc. In contrast, Planning Center continually communicates the *true* health of our company, both culturally and stability of business. I feel safe and comfortable knowing my employer is making wise financial decisions that keeps my job and others safe in a seemingly unstable market. Additionally, the benefits (parental leave, healthcare coverage, time off policies, in-person gatherings) again make me feel seen holistically, not just a cog in the machine. I truly feel as though I'm cared for from a leadership, manager, and peer-to-peer level. It's a special culture where people are always, and I mean always, prioritizing others and the health of overall teams and individuals. I can't express my gratitude for being able to show up authentically as myself and feel safe doing so. Whether that's expressing positive or negative feelings/experiences.

Cons

As others have noted - Planning Center is growing! With growth comes changes and at times, lacking communication. Communication from leadership on our vision and goals, and how it's progressing through the year, would be a valuable asset to add into regular updates. I've seen intentional efforts to improve this in the past year and feel confident it's an ongoing effort of leadership to provide as much clarity and direction as possible.

Pros

Culture of inclusivity and collaboration; everyone's voice is heard and respected, regardless of their role or tenure. Corporate values that actually manifest in processes and procedures; The values are evident in the way that employees are treated, how work is done, and the way that the company interacts with its customers. Benefits and compensation; Remote working options, new-parent leave, ample PTO, 4 day work weeks (Friday’s off all summer and every other the rest of the year), plus salary based on NYC rates regardless of locale to name a few.

Cons

Planning Center still has some carryover structures and processes from when it was a startup that can lead to uncertainty in some situations. Leadership has been actively working on streamlining the organization to help mitigate these growing pains, so maybe this is a pro depending on perspective.

Pros

The leadership team keeps the lines of communication open, clear, and transparent - a breath of fresh air in the workplace. The company prioritizes work-life balance and places a high value on treating employees as individuals. The company invests in team bonding and is intentional about building meaningful connections.

Cons

It can be challenging for a growing organization to introduce new procedures, and PC is no exception. However, it is heartening to see that the leadership team at PC is considerate of its impact on the entire staff. Although it may not be possible to satisfy everyone, they strive to ensure each employee has a pleasant work experience.
