Do Not Work Here

Pros

There are a handful of kind, dedicated people who are trying their hardest to make Pluralsight an operationally sound organization. They are facing an uphill battle every day. In an attempt to retain talent, they have provided significantly more company wide time off, which is always welcomed.

Cons

From an operations perspective, Pluralsight is a bottomless swamp of chaos. All GTM systems/tools are mismanaged and unorganized. Data sources are messy, outdated, and practically unusable. Automation is so erratic that reporting on basic sales transactions and data is unreliable. The operations teams are also grossly understaffed relative to the size of the sales orgs they support. As a result, operations team members spend all their time putting out fires rather than improving the experience of the GTM orgs. Lastly, with the Vista acquisition, there are multiple cross-functional change implementation efforts happening congruently. These all require immense amounts of time and energy from the ops team. As a result, every operations project is barely functioning, the team is so strained for resources that the future of all of these projects are bleak.

Pluralsight Response

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. As a company that is consistently growing and evolving, we do have a very fast-paced and agile environment. I’m sorry to hear that you found some of our systems and tools to be unfit. We are currently working on a major initiative to improve systems and processes, as well as general feedback on workflow.. We are also increasing headcount across the business and hiring more team members is a large priority for the company. I appreciate the advice you’ve outlined and will certainly take this into consideration. I wish you the best in your next endeavor. - Will

Pros

Still some good people despite the massive attrition. For Now.

Cons

Intentionally pushing out existing employees so they can bring in new "high performance, entry level" people for cheaper. They are doing this by stripping benefits and compensation without any mitigating factors. Effectively cutting everyone's pay by %10-15,(through the loss of employee paid premiums) and if you have been here for a few years, then its more like a %40+ pay cut because of the loss of equity on top. The mission for democratizing tech skills has been gutted. Morale is low, attrition is incredibly high. I don't know anyone out of my remaining colleagues who see themselves here long term. This is no longer a great place to work. I have a bad outlook on the future based on current decisions and deception from leadership. Heartbreaking.

Vista Equity Has Ruined This Company

Pros

Unlimited PTO Great parental leave Decent 401-K match Really nice office environment at HQ in Draper

Cons

Vista Equity is the worst thing that has ever happened to this company. Since I started here in early 2021, my pay has been cut 25% due to the equity grant program being cut (which they said would be replaced with something else, but then went back and pretended they never said that) and now they have announced major changes to our healthcare plan that are putting nearly every employee out at LEAST $5,000-7,000 per year in added medical costs. The company is obsessed with money and they are cutting everything and do not care about how it affects the employees at all. Everyone is quitting left and right & I'm sure it will continue if not worsen due to the recent change in benefits. I'm sure more of the pros I listed above will be gone soon enough. Anytime the employees ask why these major changes occurred, we are never given any sort of real answer and it truly feels like an insult to every employee's intelligence. I wouldn't have come to Pluralsight if I knew that all of this was going to happen.
