Pros

Unlimited PTO Company break - 2 weeks in they year all employees take time off at same time Strong health benefits with new inclusions of acupuncture, surgical weight loss and infertility coverage. The products are great and constantly improving. Market leader. Pluralsight is not afraid of changing and evolving. This includes sales models. Recently, the decision to move renewal business and quotas to the success teams instead of the sales team was a major shift. This simply meant less AE roles were warranted as more quota moved to another department. This resulted in new sales roles and a group of amazing people looking to find their place in the new style of work. It was a musical chairs scenario with less seats than people in that role which resulted in folks interviewing for their new roles at the end of last year. Pluralsight was generous for people that did not want to change and offered severance to those that wanted to move on. Amazing people dot the landscape across all departments and functions. Vista has been getting a lot of unfair and uninformed opinions in previous posts and painted as the bad guy. That has not been my experience. Yes, some changes are not popular, such as taking an CSAT assessment for all employees and it is required in the hiring process. The unspoken truth is that the business strategy is to operate at a profit. This is the shifting landscape as the company matures and it has resulted in some programs or benefits altering to align to that strategy. Example - health insurance premium was 100% covered and now it is not. We changed health providers to get the scale advantage of the Vista portfolio and joined their health plan. It added new benefits. It also has a portion of premium that employees pay - like regular companies everywhere else, yet with generous coverage that is improved, just different. There is room to grow your career here.

Cons

Change management is a genuine achilles heel for Pluralsight. We also change and pivot in our strategy which is well documented in other posts. We are evolving and EVOLUTION IS NOT WITHOUT PAIN. We change sales models yearly and it takes away from momentum. AE's need to evolve to a new bag of tricks - they need to be able to prospect and not only rely on a renewal event. Systemically, lots of systems and tooling need major overhaul (underway) to ease the administrative burden for sales and contracts. It is a major pain point today and is getting the attention is deserves, yet time is needed to get it right in the next iteration. The great resignation is real. Pluralsight is not exempt.

Thank you for the thoughtful review. We are certainly experiencing a lot of growth and evolution right now and along with that comes change. However, I truly believe this next chapter is going to be amazing and I’m excited that you’re embracing this journey with us. We are focused on hiring new headcount and back filling roles, but you are correct that retaining our team members is crucial and we are constantly evaluating ways to ensure Pluralsight is a great workplace. I also want to acknowledge your call out on change management, I hear you and this is something we can look at moving forward. - Best, Will

Vista woes

Pros

Great people, engineering is technology focused with good practices.

Cons

Lots of negative changes introduced since the Vista acquisition. People yearn for the days of the former Pluralsight. Some of the changes are just due to the nature of becoming a much larger company, but many are cultural/policy/process/benefits changes introduced due to the Vista ownership.
