Pros

Coworkers are all decent guys who all pull their weight, shift leader works as hard and as late as his crew, breaks strictly enforced, good PPE (personal protective equipment), regular safety meetings.

Cons

Horrible pay, terrible hours. If you work on the shipping side as a picker or loader, this job is BRUTAL. Constant injuries, extremely heavy windows and doors, and while you have PPE, most of the carts have broken brakes, creating an extremely dangerous situation. The shift is supposed to be 8 hours, but since there's no graveyard shift for the shipping department, swing shift doubles as grave. What this means to you, prospective employee, is that you'll go in at 2:30pm and come off shift sometime between 2am and 4am. Yeah. On average, you'll be working around 12 - 14 hours per shift. Then you'll get to get on the road in that condition. I never ONCE worked a shift where I got to go home at 11pm. The nature of the job and the brutal hours are nowhere NEAR comparable to the pay rate. Trust me, this job is NOT worth the pay or the long term damage to your body.

Pros

The insurance was pretty good. Not the best but it definitely wasn't the worst out there. Most of my co-workers were pleasant to work with.

Cons

Awful work environment. They will force year round mandatory overtime on you regardless of what you must do outside of work such as Dr. appointment, child care etc. You will not get a raise there. The bonus checks were cut down to almost nothing. At one time we would get $700 a quarter but now you will be lucky to get $100. There are no incentives to do your best there. The equipment there was run down and absolutely worn out. It was pitiful really, the things we had to do to make a quality part but yet they claim to be the top of the line in the industry. My advice,do not waste your time working there. You will not advance and you will not get a raise. You will not be treated fairly either. Find another job as soon as you can. It is not a career option for you, trust me...I worked there for almost 12 years.
