Pros

Podium had one of the best training programs of any company I have been a part of called Bikeshop. Unfortunately, they spread the resources so thin that Bikeshop trainers were frequently exhausted and some even quit due to stress. Every Wednesday lunch is catered and every Thursday morning there would be Roxberry smoothies.

Cons

Where to begin… -I know so many people who have worked here and after their experience with Podium have left Tech all together because it ended so horribly. -Picking favorites and which reps they want to be successful is common practice here. -Most of the 5 star reviews are completely phony, especially anything saying “it saved their career” -If you’re an account executive plan on being an SDR first because those duties will take up most of your time, not actually demoing. -You will get very little to no help from marketing or SDR sourced leads as an AE. -After graduating bikeshop I’ve never felt more like just a number anywhere else. -Unlimited PTO is a scam, they will question you if you take off without having met your quota, and don’t have to pay you out for unused PTO. -They would rather fire you than invest an ounce of time supporting you. -Job security is not a thing here, they do monthly quotas instead of quarterly so you’re essentially never more than 60 days away from losing your job. -They will quickly put you on a PIP that is unrealistic -The CEO/upper management will get up during a Townhall meeting and brag about how financially secure the company is and ‘how they can pay everyone for two years without selling another subscription’ but then the next week they will have layoffs -I’ve personally seen them give managers an ultimatum of either leave the company or accept the demotion back down to AE -Was initially told I would have access to Zoominfo and LinkedIn sales navigator, you have access to neither. Instead, they have you use Google and the Better Business Bureau for prospecting. -Extremely high attrition rate, very rare to find someone here that’s been with the company more than two years, especially in sales. -In my hiring group of about 24 AE’s there were only 8 of us left after our first 6 months. -Prepare to be constantly stressed and probably have high blood pressure especially if you drink energy drinks -Look at Domo and find the executive dashboard you will see the last time they had more than 40% of reps hitting quota was in early 2019, on average roughly about 35% of reps are hitting quota -When you leave in order to get severance, they will require you to sign an NDA where you can’t speak negatively about the company online

Pros

I learned a lot at Podium from various parts in the business. There are a lot of good mentors and people who try to do the right thing. The product itself is getting better. Chance is a great CSO.

Cons

Director of support, loss of 401k matching, not enough opportunities for growth.
