Thank you for taking the time to provide this positive feedback. PLI has worked very hard since early 2020 to keep our employees informed of COVID-19 news and to ensure the safety and well-being of employees. We very much appreciate your recognition of these efforts. It is always nice to hear when employees enjoy being part of our PLI community.

Excellent Nonprofit Employer

Pros

Great benefits abound - healthcare, dental, vision, and TIAA contributions (automatic 10% of gross pay deposited after first two years of employment, not a matching program, no personal contribution required). Good work life balance and professional training offered and encouraged. Annual increases exceed COL and inflation usually based on performance. Recently supporting a hybrid and WFH environment, which is greatly appreciated by staff and promotes even better work life balance.

Cons

The pay can be lower than other companies, but benefits help to offset that. HR can tend to be a bit zealous in its approach to operations.

Thank you for recognizing our fantastic benefits program, and we are thrilled to hear that you and others are benefitting from our hybrid home/office work schedule. Regarding compensation, as a nonprofit organization we strive to both remain competitive in order to hire the best talent while being mindful of our financial commitment to support our mission. We believe that our salaries plus other ingredients, including the generous benefits cited, wellness and paid time off programs, and enabling work/life balance, results in an appealing package for employees. Regarding HR’s approach to operations, the team works hard to be responsive to an array of employee needs and are always open to suggestions on how we may better communicate with the staff.
