      Staid, antediluvian workplace with union drones

      Pros

      Uhhh....you could probably switch to a role at Otis Elevators? The benefits were nice.

      Cons

      Work-life balance is non-existent. The firm is outsourcing all manufacturing. The union drones are allergic to change. There's senior management lip service to process improvement, so long as that means pretty signs and coats of paint on the 50 year old equipment. Management metrics aren't tied to profitability, but rather to some corrupted version of earned value/delivered hours.

      Pros

      Significant “work life balance” the place is a ghost town before 9 and after 5. Lot of structure if you like that sort of thing

      Wow, where do I begin, the “quality program” there is suffocating. Extremely process oriented and highly structured environment. If you thought about working for the State but thought they are too fast paced and competitive, then you should consider Pratt. Not bonus and very little “merit increases” (ranges from 2% for a poor worker to 4% for the best, so just at inflation) Real old school engineering bureaucracy mentality no upward mobility unless for the lucky few who add diversity (not really add it but simply look the part)
