Pros

Preferred is a company that cares about the success of their employees and the patients that they serve. I have enjoyed working with PTS for 12 years now and can't wait for another 12 years!!!! Excellent opportunities for growth and to work with a team that cares about the patient improving!!!!

Pros

None. This company cares only about the bottom line; no consideration is given to the patient. As long a you document such that medicare/insurance will reimburse, they don't care if you completely lie. If you try to be ethical and treat patients as they deserve to be treated and not document during your entire treatment session, you are punished for being "unproductive"

Cons

From the president of the company down they are all about the money. They talk a good game about how the patient always comes first but they don't act on that. They provide no gratitude to employees that go above and beyond to try to make the rehab department successful. If you are one of the higher paid employees, they will dismiss you without a thought or a word of thanks for all the time and effort you put in. When they take over a department, they give no thought to the staff that worked so hard to make the department successful and so well thought of in the community. They will allow the facility and the department to provide inadequate care to patients such that patients want to stop being admitted. I worked for 22 years in the same facility which had grown to have an excellent reputation for rehab. Within 20 months of Preferred taking over, the facility (which was taken over by National Health Care) and the department's reputation had painfully declined. I was embarrassed to be working for such a company but continued to strive to regain what we had previously achieved. For my effort, I was "laid off". Which is a nice way of saying terminated without any benefits. Benefits are awful. Medical coverage with a $12,000 deductible. No weekend or holiday differential.

All employees are expected to have their own individual opinions on their experience working for PTS. Our exceptionally low turnover rates and high employer ratings indicate that the vast majority of therapists are in fact a great fit with PTS, as there are many employer alternatives for therapists. We recognize we cannot force a good fit with every individual employee, and wish you success with future endeavors.
