Pros

When you worked along side staff that you really enjoyed and cared for, there wasn't an issue. A strong team environment meant that you could be assured that you were going to be supported even when there were difficult days. It was really rewarding to build a solid relationship with the kids. When the kids opened up about their lives, you felt like you were really accomplishing your intended goal. It was fun to spend time doing enjoyable things that encouraged the kids to act like kids.

Cons

There were great discrepancies with the management team. One supervisor might advise you to act one way in a situation, when the other supervisors would reprimand you for doing the same thing. There were times that it honestly felt like trying to plug holes in a dam with your finger. What we did didn't ever feel like it was enough.

Pros

Trainings, great support staff, positive work culture despite hard times, fully stocked playrooms for CCPT, free supervision to obtain LPC, variety of caseload, coworkers are close to each other and spend time together outside of office

Cons

Heavy caseloads, not enough time always for case management, appears to be reactive rather than proactive in regards to budget, pay could be more comparable to other companies in the area

Pros

Spiritually fulfilling job that you'll be glad you held. Developing personal relationships with youths is it's own reward and I had the experience of working with an amazing team and great clinical staff.

Cons

Pay is not great. Politics are always a factor and supervisor support was minimal. The health plan requires you to use in-network sources which are very limited.
