Pros
After reading previous reviews, it's clear that Prism has taken employee concerns seriously and implemented important changes. The most consistent con I saw in the reviews was that you only get 40hrs of PTO. Since I started, it has been doubled to 80hrs with 40hr increases given every few years that you are here. There are several opportunities for bonuses & commissions, as well as a regular raise schedule (3-5% yearly). It also seems like promotions are easily achieved with hard work and communication. Hiring seems to be getting better as well. They have let go quite a few people in management that were either unqualified, unprofessional, or simple hateful towards employees. They took the time to refill those positions with knowledgeable, kind, and respectable people. They don't seem to be hiring to "just have a warm body" anymore, and are actually putting in the work (and compensation) to find the best fit. They have hired some new HR people that, at least after a couple conversations, aren't like your classic HR. They actually care about employee wellbeing and have helped many of my coworkers mediate difficult conversations and advocated on behalf of employees to management. It's not perfect, but it looks like they are putting in the work to improve.
Cons
They are still a bit old school on many things. Dress code is rigid (but getting better). I'm a firm believer that things like hair color, piercings, & tattoos have no weight on your ability to be a professional. Prism is pretty chill about tattoos as long as they aren't inappropriate but they are big sticklers on hair color (it HAS to be a natural color) and piercings (nothing except ears and maybe side of nose?). This seems silly to me and ends up pushing away many potentially great hires. Someone's worth as an employee shouldn't be based on whether or not they have blue hair. I also wish they had more paid holidays. They do pretty well with that, but many companies are moving forward with providing paid days off for MLK Jr. Day, Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples Day, etc. Providing these days off communicates to the minorities in your staff that they are valued and seen. Prism is definitely behind on this.
