Pros

You get first hand clinical experience where you get to learn about different medical conditions and treatments. There is also opportunity for growth within the company such as being a shift leader and trainer.

Cons

Communication with management team and providers can be quite limited. The company itself does not have reference sheets for every physician that you are working with. The ones that are available are made by former scribes that wanted to ensure a smooth transition for newer scribes.

Pros

Literally no pros. Maybe other scribes you meet could be a plus but the company is horrible.

Cons

This company exploits pre-meds and employees knowing that they would like experience in the medical field. The job is not easy and if the doctor you work with is not easy to please then it makes the job more difficult but you’ll only make minimum wage. They make you pay for your own uniform, not cheap too. They scheduled me for a shift and then canceled it, then ghosted me. Years later a friend of mine became an ER doctor and thought maybe I could rejoin this company to be his scribe. They offered me a job, complete job letter, interview, projected work schedule, all of the works, I signed the paperwork to start training and then they withdrew my job offer. Turns out the entire hospital system in my city got rid of proscribe because of the poor quality of scribes likely due to poor training and very high demands from the doctors and company too. Anyways my friend hired me directly so it worked out, but Proscribe literally left me in the dust. They will continuously ghost you and the managers that hired you previously or were in contact with you do not stay at the company long. The turnover in their management is extremely high. Don’t work here.

Pros

Great place to get your feet wet with healthcare. Position can be challenging but rewarding for those who put time and effort into the job. Proscribe also has extreme flexibility.

Cons

Doctors can be challenging and entry level scribes should be paid a little more.
