Pros

the experience you gain in a hospital setting is invaluable, but you could probably get it elsewhere for better pay and benefits.

Cons

Little room for advancement $9 per hour Do not get payed more based on your time and/or knowledge base Management will change your shifts WITHOUT asking you first (I just don't understand. 90% of your employees are college students with a fixed schedule. How inconsiderate are you?) Mandatory meetings during weekdays. AGAIN: Most of your employees are IN COLLEGE. With classes. On weekdays. Who possibly have exams on weekdays. Not a good move. They will try to lure you in with the possibility of winning a Kaplan scholarship and other "possible" opportunities if you are pre-med, but no other benefits if you are pre-PA, pre nursing, pre dental etc. All geared towards pre-M.D. and try to justify the extremely low, disgusting pay rate with the fact that you might win an MCAT prep course.

Hello there. I sincerely apologize for your negative experience so far. We definitely understand your concerns as a student and do not want your employment with us to negatively impact your education. From hiring to training to scheduling, we take many measures as a company to ensure that our employees can realistically maintain the schedule agreed upon and try to remain as flexible as possible. That being said, business needs change frequently and at the drop of a hat, and this can affect shift times temporarily. Additionally, we are making efforts to improve opportunities for all healthcare paths- not just pre-med. The Kaplan scholarship and test prep course discount is a free perk for all employees and applies to students taking the MCAT or GRE. If you would like to discuss your situation and suggestions further, we'd like to hear your constructive feedback. Please feel free to contact us at careers@proscribemd.com.
