Pros

Health insurance is high quality, great coworkers, free snacks, and company events a few times a year

Cons

Prosper has overextended itself and is now facing the consequences, which are then passed onto the employees. There is no real sense of direction or path to recovery, and employees are forced to do the work of several people, but receive no recognition or additional compensation. On top of that, there is a stark inequality when it comes to the fully remote/hybrid employee system, where nearly half receive preferential treatment and are fully remote, but others are expected to be in the office at least twice a week. Bonuses and benefits continue to be taken away, but nothing is offered to make up for that. For the Operations Department specifically, the past 2 years have been nothing but toxic and plagued by the lowest morale I can remember in my 4.5 years of working there- and this can be specifically attributed to the new top Operations leadership. The culture in the Phoenix office has shifted dramatically in a negative way since their arrival. Their leadership style feeds on group think and any differing opinions are quickly squashed, making many afraid to speak up due to fear of retaliation from the very top. Tenured, competent, and loyal employees were forced out once this new leadership came in, and people are constantly worrying what minor slip up will cause them to be next. This same leadership forbids any talk of more WFH opportunities for hybrid employees while they themselves work fully remotely from different states, the true embodiment of “rules for thee, but not for me.” Overall, I cannot honestly recommend this place as an employer. The “glory days” are well behind them, and it’s hard to see them making up for the benefits and culture that have been eroded over the past couple of years.
