Pros

Nice new office in SF, you will find some great people scattered throughout. I had to meet the 20 word minimum that's what these words are for. Not a lot more for the "pros" section.

Cons

Everyone is overworked and there is NO culture. If things aren't happening management blames everyone else instead of presenting a clear vision to lead. Poor leadership all around. If there is any leadership. Who is the CFO of Prosper? No one. People are here one day and then they are gone. I've seen people come in so excited and motivated then just a couple months later look deflated and defeated. I want to get into more detail but am concerned with getting too specific. The last time there was a few bad reviews, they went into damage control mode and the CEO told the whole company to stop writing bad Glassdoor reviews. Then all of a sudden there were a bunch of generic 5 star reviews. Sort these reviews by date and you'll see it. Bottom line - there is so much going on in SF right now. There are opportunities everywhere. Don't commit yourself to a company that is so poorly managed and is all about flash and looking good while competitors are closing in very quickly. You will loose (lots of) sleep, feel under appreciated, be under compensated and not be thanked for all the tireless work you put in. Not worth it. Go find somewhere else while the opportunity is there.

Pros

Fantastic healthcare benefits. These include not just full basic health coverage, but full vision and full basic dental. They offer an employee kitchen and fridge stocked with snacks and drinks.

Cons

You'll need a sales-driven mentality to succeed. Even though it is not a sales job, if you aren't constantly out-doing other teams (or your own teammates) in the amount of loans verified, your work is not valued. Essentially, even if you meet and exceed your goal, if someone else did more, then they imply that you didn't do enough. It results in employees feeling like nothing they do is ever good enough unless they've outdone everyone else.

Pros

Quite simply, Prosper is on fire ... even compared to other "unicorns". The world wants what we're selling. I love working at a company with such strong tailwinds. The mission is exciting. Prosper isn't just a lending company. We aspire to connect people with the financial capital, knowledge, and tools they need to lead better lives. We're making big investments in products that extend beyond our core business. The company is small and nimble, and there are lots of unsolved problems, so it's easy to have an impact. The vibe in the office is very positive, and the work-life balance is outstanding.

Cons

Like any company in hyper-growth mode, some of the systems and processes are immature and fragile, which can be frustrating ... or an opportunity.
