Pros

The free food is good and they offer benefits for full-time employees. The office is the 1st floor of a brand new building for another company that occupies the upper four floors.

Cons

Job Seekers for Sales, be warned the commission structure is not in your favor. They hold 65% of the commission per deal from you until the account managers "activate" your account. If the account manager fails to do so, you will lose the 65% of your commission that was withheld. You are placed in a catch 22 where management is continually demanding more new deals; however, they're also saying that if you don't want to lose your withheld commission, (due to the account manager in another department not doing their job), you should do the account managers' job for them, thereby earning the Account managers bonuses and you the other 65% of your commission, but this uses valuable time and you are unable to generate new deals. The Sales process is convoluted. You're required to cold call and bring a lead from open to closed/won and that's pretty standard. What is not known by most new hires is that Sales has an "On-boarding" phase where (even though you have closed a deal with signed contract in hand) are responsible for a number of things involving getting the account integrated into the company. It is completely after the Sales Process has ended and devours time to get new deals and earn money. Ultimately, the on-boarding criteria are so stringent it is borderline impossible to not have multiple closed/won deals cancelled each month due to hidden and uncontrollable circumstances. In summary, I warn anyone who is considering applying or in the interview process. This is not a job built around sales success. You will be shocked when, (if you decided to accept a job offer) everything I have written in this review is true and not at all what you expected or were told in the recruiting process. If you are a skilled Sales professional, continue looking elsewhere. This place is a wolf in Sheep's clothing.

Pros

There is a fridge full of orange juice

Cons

- The sales cycle is a completely unorganized - Onboarding will ruin a few of your deals every month guaranteed - The compensation is pathetic unless they change it to a residual % otherwise its a joke - They will seriously pay an Account Executive 11.50 as a base if you do not demand more in offer letter talk about exploitation - The culture is toxic and very close minded most of the sales reps have a negative view of the job and compensation plan: the negativity is draining -You do about 3/4 of other peoples jobs and accounts once they get passed over to other departments and get cancelled or "debooked" you have no control or recourse which equals hours wasted for no return absolutely wasted effort -The process is a mess and if your a sales rep that wants control over the process this is a nightmare for you -There you have it don't say i didn't warn you

Pros

The team is continuing to grow (over 500 of us now) and the HR team and Execs are tuned into what employees need/want in order to succeed. Prosper provides a constant stream of communication for us through tech talks, round tables, and town halls. We are informed, we are treated well, and we're allowed to do big things. The organization is transforming around us and it's good. In fifteen plus years of my career, I can honestly say that this is the best company I have ever worked for, or could imagine working for.

Cons

It's hard to wait. We're growing and we want to change everything and revolutionize everything, all the time. Many times we just can't do as much as we want, as fast as we want. That's really it, though.
