Pros

1. Good quality of work 2. Great teammates who share your workload, and truly help you when you are in need 3. If you want to work in a specific field, they will get you projects 4. Trustworthy executive management

Cons

1. Mid management, specifically ADs and Ds are selfish in sharing their bounty 2. Too much cross-department politics. Sometimes, really unbearable. You could notice them fighting like cats and dogs. 3. Mid management lazy to venture out current trends. They just need to fill their sales credit brackets easily, so try the same thing which has worked. 4. They look at numbers and profits, and don't invest in bringing in right talent; resulting in existing employees overworking. 5. Heavily underpaid, and overworked. People stay because of their teammates and not because the company keeps them happy. 6. Heavy attrition rate. In my years working, I see more people quit than currently staying.

Pros

Mid size consulting firm so you know every one. Feels like it would provide visibility but it act reversely at Protiviti. If people know you they have a perception about you which never changes.

Cons

Protiviti is a mid size consulting firm with about 5000 employees. - Not too many clients which means bench time for employees which means hit on your bonus check - Very high politics with limited opportunity to grow within - Salary is not par with other consulting firms - High attrition with management not making too much effort to retain employees -Benefits are alright. Nothing exceptional - Bonus structure is also okay.

Pros

The people are relatively friendly for the most part.

Cons

Where do I begin? -As many others have mentioned, this company does not do "consulting," or "management consulting" to be more precise. This is an internal audit/SOX shop where you operate as a "consultant" (i.e. glorified contractor) at large firms that don't want to hire people full time to do the mind numbing work you'll end up doing. They'll lie to you during the interview process and claim otherwise, but do not fall for it. Protiviti is the IA shop companies hire when they can't afford the Big Four. -No training is provided beyond the most junior level. Since I was hired at the Senior Consultant level (into the Risk & Compliance group mind you - told I would never do audits), I was provided with no training. I was then tasked with leading an audit, with absolutely zero background or training. Despite my repeated requests for training/guidance, I received none. This is unethical and unfair both to the client and me. -Speaking of unethical, HR constantly bothers you to fill out positive reviews on Glassdoor and countless surveys that appear in trade magazines no one reads. I would not at all be surprised if HR itself is tasked with writing fake positive reviews on Glassdoor. Have you noticed how similar so many of the positive reviews are? -This might be commonplace in "consulting," but Protiviti wins work first, then figures out staffing later. This might seem like a fine approach, until you bid on and win (likely by selling for cheap), and then realizing you don't have qualified people to do the actual work.

Protiviti Response

Thank you for your feedback! I am happy to hear that you find your coworkers and team members friendly during the time you have spent with Protiviti. I was hoping to address a few of your concerns very clearly. 1 – We provide a wide variety of training programs and learning opportunities for employees at all levels of the organization. I urge you to contact your advisor or your local HR contact immediately to take advantage of the ones available to you. 2 – Through our resource management process, we staff every client engagement with a team of professionals who can perform the work at hand. You have a network of people available to you to ensure that you can work effectively on any engagement. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you require support, I urge you to contact your project manager, the project managing director, and/or your resource manager. 3 – In our effort to be a great place to work for every employee, we pursue a number of accolades that help us to assess our employee experience. The application process for many of those accolades provide an opportunity to survey our employees. We happily take advantage of those surveys to receive feedback that we can act on to continue to improve. We also welcome the reviews that our employees provide on this site, as they illuminate successes and areas of focus that help us to move forward. At no point do we ever force our employees to complete workplace surveys or reviews. At no point do we ever engage our HR team in unethical practices regarding reviews. We will always be an organization that welcomes feedback from any employee through any and all channels that are available to them. Finally, our recruiting professionals work hard to paint a clear picture of the career opportunities available to candidates with whom we interact. Having gone through the recruiting process with us, I encourage you to connect back with your recruiter to provide meaningful feedback on your experience. Thank you again.
