Pros

The people . From the highest levels of management to peers, Prowess has some of the nicest people I've ever worked for and with. They're also very responsive to any questions I have (HR or IT related, usually) and informative about the company's direction. They genuinely seem to care about us as employees and about morale, sponsoring several events throughout the year that make me feel appreciated. (They're also fun.) I've also appreciated the bonuses (profit sharing) and raises throughout my time there. They're consistently supportive and decent, and always help make our jobs easier. The flexibility of working from home is also paramount.

Cons

I wish the health premiums weren't so high and that we had more sick/vacation days, but overall, I know they always try to negotiate good rates for us with insurers and that we can also negotiate to get better accrual rates for PTO.

Prowess Consulting Response

Thank you for your review. We appreciate both the positive and negative feedback and we understand your concerns about workload and compensation. Our business typically engages with clients in two ways, and both have unique demand and competition cycles. We work very hard to manage both types of engagements properly to minimize the impact on our employees. We are sorry that your experience was different. As a USA-based employer we also do everything we can to provide market-rate compensation and benefits. We have seen the market for services like ours become increasingly competitive, especially with offshore and H1B contractors competing for the same contracts, yet we are encouraged by our success finding new opportunities with new clients with very different competitive dynamics. I think if you were at Prowess today you would find our trajectory exciting. Thanks again for sharing your perspective. -Aaron Suzuki, CEO

Pros

Prowess Consulting is a fantastic place to work in terms of a place that is chill and lets you enjoy life while also challenging you to work harder and smarter. The consulting team is filled with smart people who are passionate about what they do. That mixed with a management team that values opinions and lives outside of work, this really is a great company to be a part of.

Cons

Sometimes the process and general nature of the world can grind you down. Sometimes, as much as you feel like you have a voice, it's hard to be heard or to see the action of being heard.
