Perfect? No. Perfect for me? Yes!

Pros

I am a Project Manager with the firm's consulting division and management respects me enough to get the job done right and recognizes my successes. I feel appreciated on a daily basis which is HUGE for me. It s a very supportive environment for telecommuting and what a blessing it is to be able to work from home and focus on doing my job instead of fighting traffic to get into an office. I can't say enough about my team and the incredible team culture. I could not do my job without the incredibly high quality of writers, graphic designers, editors, admin staff, etc. It is always a team effort and I am 90% of the time proud of the work we do and the content we produce. It is truly wonderful to be part of a team I am so proud of!

Cons

Is the company perfect? No. This is a very fast moving environment and it can be incredibly stressful. There have been times I have felt like I was put into an impossible situation with a project regarding timeline and budget but I've never been reprimanded over the results that were out if my control and nobody died.... Would I like more money? Yep. But I am incredibly grateful for the job I have and focus on that. i think that there are some folks in management roles that are great people but they are not very good managers. I am not sure that gets addressed the way it should always.

Very conservative place to work.

Pros

Lots of independence to create work life balance.

Cons

Lack of understanding of who they are, why their customers value their services and how to position these attributes meaningfully is hurting their ability to grow. As a result their mainly project based revenue channels creates uncertainty relative to long term employment and growth opportunities.

Pros

I genuinely like the people I work with. I have been given lots of growth opportunities with my position. The business is dynamic. For some roles you can work remote. Prowess doesn't feel corporate, and for me, that is a good thing. Overall, your experience will depend on your department. The Consulting department is a talented, close-knit group and there is room to grow, but their work tends to be fast-paced and stressful. The Managed Services department is based on contracts with clients. It often has a more steady pace, but advancement is not automatic- you really have to market your skills and have good timing. The SmartDeploy team is dynamic and more social. Since they mainly work on-site, you have to fit with the team and their personalities. They have a lot of tenure there, but new employees that don't fit are out pretty quickly. Prowess is results-driven, but that can be a con to someone too.

Cons

Prowess can be stressful. I have found if you don't let your manager know you are overloaded, you can quickly find yourself underwater and working late hours. Some managers are better than others. If you are a sales person, results are important.
