      Used to be good - new Chief Customer Officer's implementation strategy may prove great or problematic.

      Pros

      Very good benefits / pay / retirement plans. Newark may have a reputation but isn’t a bad town to work in. Fairly high collaboration amongst departments and people are fun yet hard working. Social Media vision, tools, and budgets are great, but under new management pushing very, very aggressive timetable (time will tell).

      Cons

      Used to be great place to work - time will tell if new Chief Customer Officer's version of “fail-fast" will work. Work / life balance no longer exists - new management’s timetable is extremely aggressive with employees greatly pressured to produce or be replaced. Job security is greatly lacking – even highly treasured technical staff aren’t sure who next will be let go. Fired many talented people who did the early heavy lifting instituting dynamic Interactive Media and replaced them with cronies. Also laid-off brilliant Social Media Marketers, and moved running of projects to Product Management, laying off the entire PMO - was quoted as saying PM’s Risk Analysis slowed down time-to-market. After recent firing and layoffs at the Digital Solution Center (DSC), now renamed Chief Customer Office, the lower level core legacy work force has been greatly thinned out, leaving upper management top heavy. Recent motivational scenario: crony Application Dev Manager told long-time QA Manager that if QA couldn't shoehorn testing into reduced time-frame, he would find someone that could. Replacing cubicles with new “open space” work stations will provide little to no privacy, quiet think areas, or an area to call home.

      Bait & Switch

      Pros

      I had high hopes for this company. Easy interviewing.

      Cons

      They did mass hiring to vamp up for AEP. They lied about how busy you would be. How much money you would make from October 15th to December 7th. We sold existing clients before the AEP and were not even told before we couldn't that we were not allowed to "sell or upgrade" our same clients. We sometimes spent an hour or longer getting to know our beneficiaries and telling them we will be their agent for life. Not true, we were told to just NOT call our clients back and avoid our voicemails if we needed to. Later I found out, that Assurance IQ doesn't make money off of renewals or very little. This is why! 300 of us got an email and got fired with no warning. We were required to work OT and on weekends with blackout from Oct. to Dec. waiting on calls sometimes. This company will not make it in the long run with all the lies. Don't get me started about the micro-managing. A physical team watching your every move. should you be 1 minute late from break or lunch you will get warned, People are human and will be late or have to use bathroom break more than allowed at times.

      Crap job all around. Crap pay and even crappier commissions.

      Cons

      Marketing is bait and switch. Promising huge stimulus checks, money on food cards, & gas cards. None of the insurance plans offer these huge amounts promised. They claim to offer thousands when it’s anywhere from $50-$100 a month. Crap company who are preying on the poor, disabled, and elderly population.
