Pros

Most co workers are friendly and helpful. The set schedules are nice too, not much else to say though. Helping customers one on one isnt bad either.

Cons

The sales culture being shoved down employees throats is depressing and demotivating. The constant need to sell merchandise drives a lot of employees to just flat out cheat and charge customers without telling them. Even worse the DM's are aware of this practice but if youre a favorite if theirs theyll look the other way, even promote you in cases I've seen. It's very corrupt, immoral, and probably illegal. If youre a kiss up youll do fine, you can get away with almost anything (calling out at least once a week etc) if youre not on the "pet list" though, watch out.

Pros

Financially stable company run extremely well by CEO & Chairman Ron Havner and CFO John Reyes. I've been with the company over 20 years and never had to worry about whether the company could weather economic storms. The company has done well when the economy is up as well as when it's down. And besides the stability of the company, the people are what keep me here. Just an amazing group of bright talented people who make it enjoyable to come to work every day. I can't imagine working anywhere else.

Cons

Health care costs keep going up but they are everywhere else.

Pros

Liked the work, liked working with customers and training associates. Learned new skills.

Cons

This company grinds people into the dirt. No respect given to anyone but 'the chosen few.' Very poorly supervised; panic-management. One VP would run around all the time screaming that 'she was going to have an aneurism!' Huge number of hours-long, grindingly repetetive conference calls. No promotion from within store ranks.
