Pros

- Some great team members - Competitive salary - Good pension and benefits - Management is legitimately comitted trying to improve the environment / processes / systems - Good work/life blanace

Cons

- Many clueless team members - Company is experiencing some serious marketplace challenges - Bonus structure was changed to make it much harder to get anything if the company is in hard times - The organization is going through monumental change (lots of pain short-term but change for the better long-term). - Recognition is poor. New bonus structure ensures that the best employees get nothing if the organization is struggling (much worse than in the past). - Surprisingly little room for advancement (many employees are lifers in key managerial positions & very few "intermediate" positions or smaller levels of promotions). - Outdated systems and processes including systems for customers that greatly hurt the viability of the company (in the process of being changed, long-term)

I appreciate the positive feedback on the benefits we provide to our employees and their families. I agree we have a great team at Purolator International who are always eager to help internal and external customers alike. With regards to work / life balance, this is a very personal topic and often interpreted differently based on individual needs. Given we are in the service business, our accessibility to our customers and by extension to one another is critically important. While we embrace various technology platforms to connect with colleagues in other offices, we find face to face contact and collaboration to most effective in serving our customers' needs. We are very transparent on this approach upfront during the interview process.
