Pros

The corporate culture at Pyramid attracts high-performers which gives us an environment driven by respect, leading by example and dedication to excellence. If you are the best in your field, or want to be, here are a few of the reasons to work at Pyramid: 1) Work-Life Balance is mandated, it's not just a phrase. While there are times when it's harder to achieve due to external requirements, management always ensures there is a recoup of time and appreciation of effort is shown. On a regular basis my supervisor reminds me to prioritize work-life balance. 2) Enthusiasm is the norm. From executive leadership to the HR department to individual project teams, everyone is so enthusiastic about the work they do. There is a positive outlook and everyone is excited to be able to contribute to the success of the company. This keeps me excited about the work I do each day. 3) Competitive Compensation and Benefits that are not common at many small companies. Having worked at large and small companies in the past, the benefits package here is competitive with large businesses in the area. I now pay 33% less each month and have more benefits than I did at other small companies. 4) Communicative Leadership is a standard. From executive leadership to business unit leaders and individual supervisors, communication up, down and sideways is expected and regularly encouraged. Executive leadership is especially transparent, sharing corporate planning and goals company-wide (which can be unusual for small businesses). I feel confident in the company’s prospects because our leadership has shared their goals and plans for the future. 5) Growth Plans are part of the hiring process. Hiring managers are encouraged to think of each position’s growth plan prior to hiring for that position. If you’re hired at Pyramid, you’ll have a path for growth before you even start, and it can be revised with you when you onboard and begin planning your goals. This is not common at most businesses, large or small.

Cons

The downsides of working at Pyramid are the same at any federal contractor in the area. Whether a large or small business, federal contractors work for the federal government which can be challenging and unpredictable. However, Pyramid does a good job of planning for (as best as possible) changes from our external clients to both satisfy the government needs and protect Pyramid’s staff.

Pros

- It's located in the suburbs so the traffic is not TOO bad - Some employees there are nice - Good for young, energetic people with no other workplaces to compare this place to and who must stay there to start their career. Not good for introverts or who prefer working alone. Not good for people who prefer the traditional office environment.

Cons

- The open office environment sucks - No ability to work from home even though many of their clients (the USCIS for example) allows it - Have to travel between DC and the Fairfax office multiple times a week. DC sucks.

Pros

Christmas party and Kids yearly party

Cons

Awards and recognition are reserved to the selected few in the company. The pyramid is really steep to grow up the chain (for a small company, it shouldn't really be the case)
