Past glory days, but could be more to come

Pros

- Just about any kind of software you would like to work on, you can do it here. - All/most of the usual tech perks. - Lots of long-time employees, and the culture reflects that.

Cons

- Blackberry is your parent company - BB also tends to have a fairly involved hand in QNX's affairs (not always in QNX's interests). - Lost large # of core people to elsewhere recently (to fruit companies mostly), so many 'newbies' and fair amount of chaos that goes with that. Makes keeping up with projects tough. - Community of employees can be unfriendly depending on your personality, lots of 'nerdy' introverts that don't go out of their way to help you out or reach out much. Somewhat of a 'every man for himself' attitude seen frequently, sense that many have just given up.

Pros

Very professional and experienced co-workers make it an enjoyable place to work. The managers treat their employees well and are respectful of the work life balance.

Cons

The processes are somewhat dated and manual. The software development seems stagnant. Most people work independently so there is not much interaction. There is not much opportunity for advancement.
