Pros

Excellent 401k benefit. Generous vacation time.

Cons

Low pay; virtually no growth opportunity; meagre, if any, raises from year to year, with no bonuses; frequent layoffs; rising health care costs passed on to employees, far outstripping any increases in pay that might occur. Company is looking hard for ways to eliminate US jobs to send overseas, so there is virtually no job security, and employees are expected to actively participate in sending their own work elsewhere. That big corporate tax break? Used to buy back company stock, without a penny going to employee salaries.

Pros

When I started it was a great place to work. The pay was decent and there was a lot of room to grow. Everything was state of the art. They had a good company culture and it was a fun place to work.

Cons

After the owner (original founder) of the company died, it started to gradually go downhill. The original values that the company was founded on seemed to go by the wayside. Employees seemed to be expendable and benefits were being taken away little by little. Salaries/raises became stagnant as well as the attitudes of management. When it came to cutting costs the company would take more and more from the employees.

Pros

Good pay, easy and modular hours, amenities available and more for full time. Very friendly co-workers, drug testing and smoking is prohibited (could be a con). Monotonous with little sense of failure, you go in and put 20 pounds of paper on a pallet and repeat until your shift is over with occasional need to change something like the plates (relatively easy) or push a forklift. Most issues are not on your head unless you physically break the press.

Cons

Long twelve hour shifts, minimal to no breaks and you need to eat while working. Very back breaking work if you do not pace yourself properly, even then you might have to take pain killers just to get by. Part time workers will get thrown on random jobs that vary greatly. You are expected to maintain them with no training but what the foremen are willing to give you. You have to be more than proactive, you have to learn quickly and have a general work sense to actually butt in and try to help when you have no idea what you're supposed to do.
