Pros

Pay is decent and the CEO seems nice. But ever since he's taken over the company cares more about profits.

Cons

assistants have horrible schedules, upper management treat non-brown nosing employees badly, always understaffed, do not like to honor tuition reimbursement, treat full time employees bad and part timers like gold, upper management only likes to hear positive feedback, steal employees ideas and don't reward them for it, would be happy to keep every employee in the same position forever, no breaks, stand up for 10 hours or more straight, QT is starting to not care about its employees and more about the profits.

Pros

The company is pretty flexible when it comes to time off. As an almost 7 year employee, and Store Manager, I had almost 5 weeks of paid time off, plus an additional 5 paid sick days, plus an additional time off option that employees could pay into. The bonus structure is fairly generous, with stores getting bonuses based on profitability and on customer service metrics.

Cons

The company changed a lot over the past 7 years. From adding the QT Kitchen concept, to changes in ordering, scheduling, and planning your day, the changes were rapid, and sometimes not very well thought out. I also think that the people changed as well. As a store manager, I moved around frequently, and the change in attitude and morale from one store to another was astounding. It takes a lot to get fired from QuikTrip (going over on time off and theft are the top two reasons). It's hard to run a store if you feel like you are hamstrung in how you can deal with employees. Eventually, it just got old. Also, the increased focus on the bottom line, instead of focusing on people, was very apparent. Very rarely did I receive a simple thank you from upper management for accomplishing a goal. Instead it was "Do this better", or "You need to fix this, ASAP". Finally, training of new employees is pretty awful. New assistants get either two or three weeks, depending on what position they get hired for. Clerks get four days. With the amount of changes that the company made, this is not nearly enough time to give them a solid base to perform their job adequately. Training seemed like they almost hold their hand through the process, which is not how the job is at all.

Pros

-I was lucky to get a good management team. -Free fountain drinks during work hours -Clocking out after working your behind off.

Cons

-Oh boy where do I start. Before i started working at QT, I always envisioned it to be one of the best jobs there was. As you can see by their ranking on 'Best Places to Work' they have been getting worse each year, with 2018 being the worse ranking they've ever had and perhaps 2019 will be even worse. -I used to think not having a break was the worse thing about QT but oh how things have changed. -Having 3 people work during a shift is ridiculous. Corporate has been increasing the workload while decreasing our hours... how does that even make sense? -They've recently added the subs and wraps and supposedly given us more hours but compared to the hours they have taken, those hours they have given us are nothing. -$10 an hour is no longer worth it for the amount of work that we do -Don’t get me started on the kitchen... -Can get hectic, stressful, tiring, and frustrated all at the same time -No Employee discounts whatsoever - You cannot even eat anything from QT for free without it first having to be stale. - I could continue but you get the point
