Pros

A lot of nice, smart people throughout the company. Good location. Interesting and complex business.

Cons

Passive-aggressiveness and secrecy at senior levels trickles down into the culture, requiring that you learn to play politics or stagnate.

Pros

No real work in the DSS division. It was foosball, poker and long lunches. The Foster City / San Mateo area has many good restaurants so it's not a bad area to work in.

Cons

No career potential, low pay, lack of opportunities, the list goes on and on. The projects in the DSS division were unprofitable and required a lot of resources. Most of the employees were disgruntled while working there and I'm sure management knew about it. If not then they were fooling themselves.

Pros

- Flexibility to work from home. - A few genuinely kind colleagues (5 max) who try to support one another.

Cons

- Rampant racism and a lack of diversity support for double minorities or minorities in general. - Disorganized management that misleads employees. - Culture of favoritism; success is dependent on butt-kissing rather than merit. - High pressure and unrealistic expectations with no acknowledgment of hard work. - Mass layoffs disguised as planned decisions, leaving employees feeling insecure. - Do not help with promotion unless everyone else is laid off or quit before, then you are promoted. You will not be promoted unless you kiss butt or a man. - Incompetent HR. RUN if you can from this company. Emphasis on RUN. Find somewhere else to work. This is not the opportunity to jump on. Everything seems sweet at first then next you are unemployed. If you like these things then this is the company for you.
