Pros

You are taked to work on projects that are entirely different in both the product and codebase. One day it could be a wordpress prjoect whereas another day it could be a jacked up MVC to another day with an okay MVC.

Cons

This company is a conglomerate of online companies that It buyes. You have to work on so many different codebases all the types from all the different acquisitions. Their internal codebase is very bad and they prefer you to add hacks to hacks instead of spending 5 more minutes in making it proper. Depending on which department you end up in, you could have either an 8-5 or a 7a-9pm. Due to the numerous projects that have everyone working on, their is duplicated code that is developed between departments. In some departments, developers are manged not by a development manager but by a product manager and in other departments they are managed by non engineers but buy hackers.

Pros

Stocked kitchen. Friendly peers. Laid back environment (almost too laid back). Most of the verticals of the company are well run. If you are a work-aholic this may work for you. They do know how to make money but at what cost to employees?

Cons

There is a severe lack of training. Some hourly employees are expected to perform like salaried employees without the OT pay. Company expansion has allowed them to bring on new evolving positions that are poorly organized and poorly designed. Management can be too laid back to the point where light-hearted joking with employees can quickly turn into insults.

Pros

Lots of growth opportunity to sell. Lots of companies need good leads and QuinStreet is the leader. Lots of media to use to sell.

Cons

Too separated from each vertical. Tough to hit estimated targets. Irrational expectations from both sales and marketing. No matched 401K plans.
