Pros

Friendly co-workers. Flex-time. Free Snacks, Soda, Coffee, fruits. I think most of the mid level managers really care.

Cons

Many rounds of layoffs, they even lay off people who are close to retirement and have have 10+ years of experience. Completely heartless. Loyalty means nothing. They think nothing of completely destroying your life.

Pros

Bagels, donuts etc. if you're into that kind of stuff

Cons

They said all the right things during my job interview to get me through the door but when I started I saw their true colors. On my first day, I was shocked to find out that I had to take 40 hours of forced PTO during the company's winter break in December (I started in October) and you're not allowed to go negative on your PTO balance so I had no choice but to go unpaid for an entire week. I think this is something that should be disclosed before you hire someone. You're not allowed to take half days either. There is no 401k match and the benefits and pay aren't great. The laptops and computers are really old. They have the worst data management system and sometimes data isn't available for a few days. During the job interview, they told me that I would get to work on a variety of things and I would never be bored. WRONG! It was the same thing everyday. I was also surprised to see that the people who interviewed me weren't the people I worked with directly (except one) and this wasn't made clear to me during the interview. If I had met the people I worked with directly, I would have never taken the job. A month in, I knew I had made the worst career decision but I had no choice but to stick there for a few more months. Politics is rampant and employees that suck up are the ones that are awarded. Teamwork is nonexistent and your teammates won't hesitate to throw you under the bus if something goes wrong even if it wasn't your fault.

Pros

The people you'll end up working with on the floor will be awesome. Great group that have A+ personality that helps overwhelm the overall dull atmosphere of the office.

Cons

Management keeps you on your toes with warnings. You never know when you'll be handed a final with a random time frame for you to 'resolve' the issue. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job. You can have terrific numbers, be training other people, and they'll still penalize you for things you didn't otherwise know you were doing wrong. It's a rat race without the pay out. Do super well at your job and they'll expect you to do even more without paying you what your time and effort is worth and if you're sub par they'll expect you to do the bare minimum and mostly leave you alone, except you'll be more likely to have them poking you to keep up with KPI's that they pulled out of their butts. The mind games aren't worth the hassle of trying to do everything you can to keep a job that isn't even paying a fair wage. Every single day you're just waiting for HR to pop up behind you, say 'Can you place yourself in meeting?' without any prior warning, and then the eventual walk towards the HR office where they'll unload on you a final warning or worse without anything to cushion the blow.
