50% layoffs but still no plans

Pros

There was a time that this company was good, years ago.

Cons

New leadership came in last year and killed the culture but didn't improve the business. Blamed it on "poor performance" of the employees. Business continued to sink with double decline on users as they didn't have a plan. Then they did a 50% layoff (June 2026), including all of the c-suite. So now there's no company, no business, and no plan.

Pros

Mediocre food, but filled me.

Cons

The company suffers from a profound lack of strategic direction, characterized by the complete absence of a viable vision or long-term roadmap. Operational workflows are subjected to erratic, unstructured changes that fail to drive any measurable improvement—a direct result of deficient product management and operational leadership. Rather than addressing these systemic, top-down deficiencies, executive management routinely deflects accountability by scapegoating the general staff. Compounding this internal collapse, the company is in a severe financial tailspin, registering negative performance across every key financial and growth metric. This operational incompetence has fueled a relentless, five-year downward trajectory with no bottom in sight.

Socially good but chaotic

Pros

Socially good. People like us and the company is not evil. Good ownership opportunity and you get to do a lot. Friendly coworkers.

Cons

It seems like no one is really making decisions. Execs say they want people to make decisions but when you do, you get questioned from them so it seems like they want you to make decisions they like without them telling you. In the proxy t org, there are product managers who want to make their own decisions but then get overruled by their directors or designers. So we can’t align on anything. Meanwhile, the company is losing users but don’t know how to stop it. Hard to get promoted in this situation.
