Pros

The developers working here are great to work with. Everyday is casual day. Getting fired for some reason is a challenge.

Cons

People who are actually bad at their jobs cant get fired (Management AND Non management!) Micromanagement No real review system (They decide people are "Bad" because they have to justify that people are "Good". No real reasons here.) Management does NOT care about employees, and would rather let them walk or show them the door rather than attempting to even pretend to listen to concerns. What you are hired for and what you end up doing are two different things. No room to learn anything new No room to grow

RetailData cares deeply about our employees. We work with employees above and beyond what is typical. For the going away party referenced, it was not a company event, and there were many non-Retail Data associates participating. For these reasons it was appropriate that the Company not sponsor alcoholic beverages. We have a very progressive IT strategy and the organization is investing millions of dollars to enhance the IT platform. The future is bright at Retail Data as each year we grow our top and bottom line.

Pros

Laid back atmosphere and people are willing to help.

Cons

Long hours that didn't follow the rest of the office. Not everyone is treated equally. Although some do most of the work, we were all paid the same and management never addressed the issues. There is a lot of pass the blame. There is also a lot of miscommunication between the pricing analysts and team coordinators and the upper management. They make a big deal about possible advancements, but there is probably one for the entire company every six months. Don't believe they will pay you well either, I'm barely over the poverty line and their health insurance isn't worth it.

Pros

Well you will get paid @ $12/hour initially, but eventually that one goes away and becomes a Piece rate ($0.14 per item scanned). At the beginning you need to do a lot to get along with knowing how it works, which is good but the company will not tell you at the beginning that you will be transferred to the Piece rate eventually. So all the efforts that you make just evaporates.

Cons

Transferring to the Piece rate means you lose your opportunity to make more money. You cannot make enough money while you are on Piece rate. The contracting procedure should be transparent at the beginning. The Data Collectors don't have even a chance of being considered for the district manager positions, even if they are qualified. The company just don't even lets you know about up coming opportunities. All you have to do is just data collection.
