      Pros

      The people working for REI are some of the best folks around and are super supportive. The benefits are really solid. Most HQ roles have the option of working Remote. Industry access is awesome. Great environment for learning.

      Cons

      Poor Leadership, and no leadership accountability. Lack of support for IC's when there are tangible business needs. Often the only tools available are cobbled together Excel spreadsheets with little to no ongoing support. Career advancement is challenging.

      Good discounts and pro deals.

      Cons

      Touts diversity and inclusion, but does not do the work to create a working environment that supports/retains diverse talent. Black and brown POC are severely underrepresented in positions of leadership. Slow to give raises or promotions. Those in middle management are often untrained and unprofessional.

      The discounts from vendors were amazing, plus Yay day is a wonderful celebration!

      Cons

      I worked for REI for 8 years and had a wonderful experience until I got "promoted" to Adventures. I lasted less than 6 months. There were two managers that were really, really awful. They were bullies. To this day, I think about writing a letter to express how they treated me (and a few others); with ageism and total disrespect. Those managers are still there!
