Pros

The work isn't very hard, and you can choose to chat with coworkers or keep to yourself

Cons

Dining does not give benefits or free food to its employees at all, you basically have to fight for that.

Pros

It's an employer who values diversity, so you will have opportunities to engage with many types of people. Also very LGBT+ friendly workplace. Some departments have more flexibility with remote days vs others, but almost all employees can work at least 1 day from home.

Cons

There are not a lot of advancement opportunities here; it highly depends on your department and if any higher-ups leave/retire. The pay ranges are also outdated, and it's extremely unlikely for a new employee to be hired at the top end of the range listed. If you are content to do the same work for years with extremely minimal pay increases, then you won't be bothered. As a staff person, I feel that I am valued less than faculty members are. The university does nothing at all to make staff feel appreciated, but after a while, you get used to that and it becomes less bothersome.
